South Sydney forward Dean Widders and the Tigers’ Liam Fulton were successfully acquitted of contrary conduct charges at the NRL Judiciary on Wednesday night

The news however wasn’t good for Dragons prop Jason Ryles who will miss the rest of the season after being found guilty on the same charge.

Ryles received a two-match ban for a grapple tackle on North Queensland hooker Aaron Payne in round 23.

The former Eels star was looking at a possible three-match suspension before being found innocent of any wrong doing in an alleged ‘crusher’ tackle on Jamie Lyon on Monday.

Widders is now free to focus on this weekend’s upcoming sell-out between the Tigers and the Rabbitohs which could see Souths return to the finals for the first time in 18 years.
Fulton wasn’t facing a suspension but decided to contest the charge anyhow. - Read More, Here
