A field goal from Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah in the 80th minute ended any hope the Sharks had of keeping their season alive in September.

Farah, who wasn't originally named in Saturday’s match due to a hip injury, also played a part in two quick tries to the Tigers in the 51st and 54th minute.

The first, was scored by winger Taniela Tuiaki in the corner while the second came from fullback Brett Hodgson after a great Farah line break up the middle of the field.

Wests Tigers then went on the attack again, and ended with a penalty goal from right under the posts.

In the 60th minute the Wests Tigers back line followed on from a Hodgson break to put centre Chris Lawrence in the corner. Benji Marshall then converted from the side line taking the score to 28-18

The Sharks dug deep and clawed back the lead to tie the game in the 71st minute through tries to Taulapapa and Covell before Farah landed a field goal on his first attempt to win the match 29-28.
