Current Sea Eagles replacement halfback Michael Monaghan has revealed he won’t mind when Matt Orford returns to take over the steering wheel.

Monogahan – who wore the number 7 jersey full-time before Manly acquired the services of Orford in 2006 – did admit the stroll down memory lane has been good.

“Yeah, I’m definitely enjoying it at the moment,” Monaghan said.

‘We’ve had some good wins while I’ve been playing there.

However no matter how well he performs or how many games Manly wins under his direction, the former Raiders player is anticipating the return of the man otherwise known as ‘Ox.’

He knows that unlike at some other NRL clubs, the halfback spot is as secure as the Palm Beach lighthouse, not that he’s disappointed.

‘Ox, you know he’s one of the best players in the competition and he’s our captain and probably our most important player.

‘I’m just happy to fit in wherever, whether that be hooker, halfback, five-eighth or off the bench.
