Hull FC suffered a hell of a blow before the start of their Super League campaign after losing 3 key players to injury during Sunday’s 30-22 loss to Huddersfield at KC Stadium.

Down and out at the end of full-time yesterday were Lee Radford (Thumb), Richard Whiting (Arm) and off-season Aussie import Shaun Berrigan (shoulder).

To make life more difficult for Hull FC coach Peter Sharp, those three players had to be added onto a list of six stars who pulled out shortly before yesterday’s friendly.

There is nothing friendly about how this could potentially disrupt the start of Hull FC’s campaign in Super League XIII.

“It's the injuries that concern me, not the football. The football will be OK,” coach Peter Sharp told the BBC.

And he is probably right. Hull FC – coming off the back of a 66-22 victory over Dewsbury – lead 16-0 over the Giants during the first half before the loss of Radford, Whiting and Berrigan.

Former North Queensland Cowboys star Rod Jensen impressed his new coach, Jon Sharp, scoring a hat-trick of tries as his side piled on 26-points with absolute ease in the final forty minutes.
Hull FC halfback Richard Horne may be out for a lengthy duration due to a foot injury.

In other clashes, Leeds played like Rhinos, running over the top of Oldham 50-4 in the Kevin Sinfield Testimonial.

Warrington three-quarter Paul Johnson made a succesful comeback from his neck injury in his squad's 30-22 win over Wigan.
