The Maltese Knights kicked off their 2007
International Season in impressive fashion after registering a comprehensive 82
- 0 win over the Japanese Samurai’s at BCU International Stadium, Coffs Harbour.

In front of a crowd of around 2,000 interested locals
and members from the other teams participating in this weekend’s Orara Valley
Sevens competition, the Maltese dominated from the start with Tyson Muscat and
exposing the Samurai’s defensive weaknesses.

Maltese Knights debutants, Ross Sammut, Zack Williams and Michael Grech all
collected tries, whilst Ben Sammut, in his last game ever on Australian soil,
kicked 10 from 14 attempts.

Steve Galea was awarded Man of the Match honours for Malta,
whilst from Japan,
front row forward, Hirosuke Oyabu, received the honour for his consistent
workload throughout the match, never giving up even when the Maltese got well
in front.
