Notorious pest Peter Hore has made a successful comeback to
the NRL during Monday night’s clash between the Eels and the Knights.

Running out onto Energy Australia Stadium for the first
time in two years, the Newcastle resident managed to make it onto the field and
pull off a ‘flop’ tackle on Parramatta prop Fuifui Moimoi before security were
able to test their defence on him for the first time this season.Describing the time it took security to apprehend the famous intruder as "scary", Eels captain Nathan Cayless said Hore was lucky Moimoi "didn't punch him in the head and knock him out."

It’s not the first time the serial pest has interrupted an
NRL clash between the Eels and the Knights.

On March 11, 2006, Hore rode a tricycle with a cage
containing a number of cats out onto the middle of Energy Australia Stadium to
a small ovation of laughter but mostly bizarre looks and disbelief.

Several months later he then re-appeared onto the same
ground at the end of a game between the Knights and the Manly Sea Eagles.

Hore’s return to the world of football follows his
unsuccessful attempt to run for parliament as an independent candidate in Kevin
Rudd’s seat of Griffith under the name of PM Howard.
Newcastle defeated Parramatta 32-12 and handed coach Brian Smith a win in his 500th NRL game.

Should a French Rugby Union club hire Peter Hore?
