Leeds Rhinos boss Brian McClennan suffered his first defeat in Super League XIII at the hands of a jack in the box Castleford Tigers squad on Friday.

McLennan while disappointed didn’t hide his praise for the Tigers who desperately piled 7 tries on top of the competition leaders to win their first game of 2008.

"I don't want to disrespect the way Castleford played," he said. "They were great. They really aimed up and scored some wonderful tries.

"They were probably unlucky not to win by more. If they had kicked their goals in the first half, it would have been worse for us."

The former New Zealand coach is confident his squad will bounce back quickly from the loss.

“But that's sport. We had a glorious high last week and now we're on a low. We'll have to dust ourselves off and get ready for Harlequins next week."

Rival coach Terry Matterson believed the win was coming.

"I was confident we would win," said Tigers coach Terry Matterson. "I felt something was brewing.
